It is the question asked most by so many home owners looking for a new boiler – what boiler brand is best?

How long is the brands manufacturer warranty?

A boiler warranty can be worth its weight in gold if something does go wrong. Combi boilers are generally very reliable these days but the longer a warranty level is, the safer you will feel. Some of the cheaper brands of new boiler are also the ones with the shortest warranty. So you may save a little bit of money at the initial boiler install phase but as/when something does go wrong (and lets be honest, it’s more likely to happen on a cheap boiler), you may already have had your warranty time out.

Efficiency Ratings

If you are intending on staying in your home for the next ten years and you expect the new boiler to last for that time, then the difference in energy efficiency really can make a difference. A couple of pounds less energy per month may not sound like much but if that equates to £25 a year then over your ten years, you have just saved £250 without having to do anything. Plus it is better for the environment.

Recommendations from other customers

If you go onto compare sites like Which you can read reviews and recommnedations based on their tests. It is one thing for boiler installers like us to tell you what boiler brand is the best. It is something different altogether to hear a review from other home owners.

Different types of boiler from different brands

Just because (for example) a combi boiler Baxi boiler is brilliant doesn’t mean that their conventional boilers are as good. In the same way that a BMW saloon is a great family car whereas a Ferrari is a great sportscar. There is no right or wrong answer to this. Some brands of boiler are generally seen as better than others but a lot of the time it depends on what you are looking for. We are proud to be a Baxi approved installer because we feel that they make some of the best boilers around. But it would be wrong for us to push them just because they are our preferred choice. Worcester Bosch make a great quality boiler. As do Vaillant, Ideal and Viessmann.
